XXIX Mazurian Lakes Conference on Physics
"Nuclear Physics and the Fundamental Processes"

August 30 - September 6 , 2005, Piaski, Poland

We are pleased to inform you that the 29th Mazurian Lakes Conference on Physics will be held in Piaski, Poland, August 30 - September 6, 2005. The Conference is organized by the Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies and the Warsaw University.

Main topics:
1. Matter in the Universe
2. From the structure of nucleon to the structure of nucleus
3. Weak interactions and neutrino physics.

Tentatively, it is planned that the Conference will be followed by the Compressed Baryonic Matter Collaboration (CBM) Meeting, September 6 - 11, 2005. The Meeting will be organized jointly with the GSI Darmstadt, Germany.

Scientific programme:

The Conference programme will consist of about 30 lectures and a number of short presentations of contributed papers, supplemented by a permanent poster exhibition. Those wishing to contribute to the topics listed above are invited to submit one page abstracts. This will help the Programme Advisory Board to select work for oral presentation (invited talks included). Abstracts should be sent electronically to the address mazurian@fuw.edu.pl before March 31, 2005. Authors will be notified about the selection for oral presentation before May 31, 2005. A small number of post dead-line papers can be accepted if they include important new results.

Proceedings:

We expect to publish the proceedings as a separate volume of Acta Physica Polonica B. Only the work presented orally will be included in the proceedings. In order to maintain the high standard of Acta Physica Polonica B, potential authors are reminded that only novel, original work should be submitted. All papers will be refereed.

Programme Advisory Board:

P. Butler (CERN/Liverpool), J. Hardy (Texas A & M), P. Haensel (Astronomical Center, Warsaw), R. Kulessa (Jagiellonian University, Cracow), K. Langanke (Aarhus), V. Metag (Giessen), J. Nassalski (Institute for Nuclear Studies, Warsaw), W. Nazarewicz (University of Tennessee, Oak Ridge), A. Para (Fermilab), P. Senger (GSI, Darmstadt), M. Soyeur (CEA, Saclay).
