JINA sponsored the first-ever Nuclear Astrophysics
course in MSU's Math, Science, and Technology (MST) camp. A two-week
residential camp for middle school students, MST offers the opportunity
to explore several subjects. Nuclear Astrophysics attracted the highest
enrollment of any course this year, with twenty students spending two
hours a day with JINA faculty and staff. Topics ranged from explosive
nucleosynthesis to high-energy cosmic rays. The program was very well-received
by participants and lecturers, and MST is excited to have JINA offer
          the course again next year.
